New Youth Director Matt Giesman starting June 1

After a nearly yearlong search the Session extended an offer to Matt Giesman to begin June 1and he has accepted.

Matt was born in Lima, Ohio but grew up in Dothan, AL. he came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 14. He is a graduate of University of Alabama (class of 2003). He spent summers working at Camp of the Rising Son in French Camp, MS, and this is when God began to change his passion for sports writing and broadcasting to a desire to serve God’s people in pastoral ministry.

After college Matt served a year as a short-term missionary at a Christian camp in Nassau, Bahamas. He also spent three great months in a Biblical discipleship program run by Camp of the Woods in Speculator, NY.

Matt entered Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS in the fall of 2005 and will be graduating this May. During this time he served as a pastoral intern at Trinity Presbyterian in Jackson, MS working a good deal with the youth.

He’s very excited about starting his new job in June and about meeting the youth and youth parents of the church, as well as the rest of the congregation. (Also, his girlfriend, Elizabeth Gibson, is about to graduate from nursing school in May, and is looking for a job and an apartment in Fort Worth,). You can check Matt out on Facebook.
